A chandelier

Awhile back, I found an awesome deal on a chandelier at the Peddlers Mall. I just love that place! You never know what you will find!
I thought it would be perfect above either of our tables. It just needed a little paint.
It started out with a rubbed metal look.

Since I am adding a lot of cream to the space, I thought the chandelier would look good with the same color. I just taped it off and painted it a pretty cream color. So easy!

It did come with large shades and a few crystals. I hope to get it hung soon!

My favorite Pins this week

It has been hectic around here and I wonder if I am able to keep this blog going. I will keep trying my best!
There have been many cute projects on Pinterest lately. It makes me motivated to get some of my projects done. I picked up an old bike at a yard sale a few weeks ago.

I am excited to get some turquoise paint on it! Here are some pretty bikes on Pinterest:

Have you painted a vintage bike? What color do you like?

Bedroom changes

After thinking our master bedroom was close to finished, I had a major problem with my comforter from Pottery Barn. I followed the washing instructions on the tag, and it bled. It was now pink:(.
I loved this bedding. I was designing the bedroom around it! Pottery Barn is giving us our money back but they do not have that print in stock. Also, I really don’t think I want it, knowing it will be hard to wash. So, now I am back to square one.

Goodbye my favorite comforter!

The roses

The flowers are looking so pretty this year. I don’t remember last year being this pretty or having so many birds! I guess I am doing something right!
Here are the beautiful knockout roses in the front of our house. They are doing really good this year!

The flowers around it are also doing well.

The only thing I have done differently is water with some plant food. I do not have a green thumb, but it sure is starting to look like it!

How are your flowers looking?

Baby birds

A family of robins have decided to make our home their home too. I couldn’t be more excited! We have watched their little babies grow everyday. The mom lets me walk right next to her out in the yard. It is truly amazing. I hate for them to fly away.

Not only do we have robins on every corner of our house, we spotted two orioles knocking on our windows. We can count on seeing these cuties everyday through my daughters window. She loves when they knock!

Spring is quickly becoming my favorite season!

It has been a pretty busy week here. Between homeschooling, ballet, baseball, and all of the everyday stuff, I haven’t had much time to do much else!
Last week was my sweet daughter’s seventh birthday. Wow, does time fly! She decided on a horse themed birthday and I went for it. I had fun coming up with some ideas on Pinterest.

I was a little disappointed in how the pictures turned out, but you get the idea. Most of these ideas can be found on Pinterest.

Some of my favorite things from the party were the jars with pink straws and the strawberry lemonade popcorn! Did you know you can make any koolaid flavored popcorn! Here is the recipe:

The cake was a double chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. My daughter likes plain and simple when it comes to her cakes. This cake was super easy!

What are some of your favorite party foods?
